The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new European - wide law which replaces the Data Protection Act
in the UK
The main principles of the data protection law will remain unchanged, However, GDPR places greater
obligations on how organisations handle personal data.
It came into effect on the 25th May 2018 and is regulated in the UK by the Inormation Commissioners Office (ICO)
